Parth Patel - Honorary Jersey City Police Officer

Suffering from fatal Ewing Sarcoma, 9 year-old Parth Patel was surprised with a Superhero parade where hundreds in Jersey City came out to support the fourth grader as he rode with Batman in a Batmobile to attend school – his final wish.

While Patel’s dying wish was simple and spoke to his love of life, Jersey City Police Officer Adrien Murrell who organized this event made sure this final request was something special. In addition to the Superhero parade, Patel was thrown a giant pizza party in his school auditorium, given a custom-made Jersey City Fire Department replica uniform, and presented with the key to the city by Mayor Steve Fulop. Parth thanked everyone for supporting him and was smiling the entire the day.

Parth Patel passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016. His heroic spirit has cast a giant shadow over the entire Jersey City community and he will be forever missed.
