The JC police department and all the law enforcement agencies and first responders came out to make a special day for 9-year-old Parth Patel, a student at PS 27 who has late stage cancer and who had the wish of becoming a police officer.

From numerous police departments, to the JCFD, to the FBI, to EMS, to the NJ Devils, to Home Depot, to Batman and many super heroes, to his teachers, fellow classmates and school family – thank you for showing so much love.

Teacher Ms. Lomax and Guidance Counselor Ms. Rivas shared the qualities of Parth that make him PS 27’s superhero. This includes his constant positive attitude, always being humble and caring for others, and an infectious smile.

“His smile brightens and warm heart melts the room. My hero, Parth Patel, is a kind-hearted young warrior. Parth has shown me how to face my daily challenges with a smile. His perseverance has taught me that no matter how grand the task is, it can be accomplished. It’s amazing how a 9 year old has impacted so many lives. Knowing Parth and being with him and his family throughout this journey has been an honor,” stated school nurse Cindy Charles.
